Good Luck, Kate!
CBC member Kate Whittle recently left the co-operative to be closer to her family in the South West. Here, Bob Cannell remembers his first encounter with Kate.
"I first met Kate maybe 13 years ago at an ICOM (worker coops) conference where she facilitated a workshop on meeting skills.
"To say the participants were uncooperative would be an understatement. Twenty odd worker coop members and CDA workers, all with their own opinions and determined to tell them to everyone. She didn’t appear to intervene very much but the group transformed from an argumentative rabble into a team which she then guided through the finer points of meeting skills.
"I was impressed (being more used to a ‘winner takes all’ debating style). When David and I started CBC in 2002, the first person I wanted to join us was Kate and she said yes. She brought those skills to CBC and our clients.
Good luck Kate in the sunny South West and I hope we will be working together again."
