In the late 1980s, I was instrumental in establishing Chorlton Parents Support Group, a co-operative, which ran for over ten years providing a day nursery, after-school club and holiday play scheme at very affordable rates for parents in south Manchester.

For the last 5 years I have acted as a PR consultant for FC United, building up the clubs' fundraising activities, sponsorship and co-operative profile. This has included several innovative developments, such as overseeing the groundbreaking £1.5 million Community Share offer and building the club's links with other co-operatives. Part of the latter was the creation of the FC 5k Minithon challenge which now involves 4 other supporter-owned clubs in raising funds for their organisations and charity.

I created the club's now annual Youth United Day' involving 1,000 youth in a celebration of young people's achievements; its People United Day' promoting social cohesion of our communities and have developed its Big Coat Day 5-ton winter coat collection for the city's homeless and destitute. The latter event now receives widespread support from other organisations and businesses around Great Manchester.

I have also led establishing the first co-operative football club in Kerala, south India. I have worked on marketing for Substance and written for Supporters Direct.

I have been a Director at Co-operatives North West since April 2010, and have facilitated the Principle 6 networking sessions at Co-operatives North West events.

Recent co-operative clients include: FC United of Manchester, Levenshulme Inspire Forum, Co-operative Group, Co-operatives North West, Supporters Direct and Substance.
