Building an Economy for People not Profit
Session “A People’s Railway” – prompted by Jeremy Corbyn’s call to renationalise our railways.
Facilitator Profile: Kate Whittle firstname.lastname@example.org
Kate is an experienced co-operative developer, with interests in co-operative skills and transport. She is the society Secretary at GO-OP Co-operative, which recently reached a crossroads in its journey to become Britain’s first co-operative rail operating company. The Board has decided – with members’ support – to invoke its rights under the Railway Act to apply directly to the Office of Rail Regulation without the support of Network Rail.
This year Kate has been busy updating the From Conflict to Co-operation series of booklets – which now include a section on strategic planning in worker co-ops, to be published online by Co-opsUK Spring 2016. She has also been providing support with strategic planning, HR, induction and meetings training for Bristol-based worker co-op Essential Trading
The “Building An Economy To Serve People And Not Profit” conference will take place in Manchester on Thursday 21st January (10am-4pm) in the Central Hall.
Admission (including lunch and refreshments) is £45.00
