Session Speaker: Sheila Coleman
People’s Power in the Workplace

Sheila Coleman is a Community Co-ordinator for the North West for the Unite trade union and has been a prominent campaigner for justice for the Hillsborough families.

Sheila works with the unemployed, students and the retired to help them make improvements in their own communites and get involved in campaigns in their area.

As Sheila said in an inteview with the Liverpool Echo, “As someone who spent two decades fighting alongside the families of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, I have seen first hand what can be achieved when communities stick together and fight for what they believe is right and just.

“Across the North West many communities feel like they do not have a voice.

“Unite community membership is going to help change that. We think it is time that people who do not have a job for whatever reason are now going to have access to the benefits of trade union membership.

Sheila will speak to the conference in the Closing Plenary; People’s Power in the Workplace
