Building an Economy for People Not Profit
January 21st 2016
Debbie Clarke: Session Speaker
Debbie Clarke has been a member of Unicorn Grocery workers co-operative for the past 11 years. Like all Unicorn’s members she multi-tasks, working at every level of the business from shop floor tasks to directorial duties, with a specialisation in education and marketing. She recently returned from an extended sabbatical visiting consumer and worker owned co-operatives in the United States.
Debbie will be speaking in the final plenary , demonstrating how a hugely successful workers co-op grew from a handful of people with an idea, and now provides a service that the supermarket chains have been unable to challenge.
The “Building An Economy To Serve People And Not Profit” conference will take place in Manchester on Thursday 21st January (10am-4pm) in the Central Hall.
Admission (including lunch and refreshments) is £45.00
