Martin Meteyard

Martin Meteyard is Chair of conference organisers, Co-operative Business Consultants (CBC), and has worked in the co-operative movement for more than 30 years. His experience includes 15 years as a worker member of GreenCity Wholefoods co-op in Glasgow, followed by six years as Scottish Secretary of The Co-operative Group before becoming a freelance co-op development advisor. He was also a founder director of The Phone Co-op and is a member of the Co-operative Party.

Martin is well known in Fair Trade circles as former Chair of Cafédirect plc and of the Scottish Fair Trade Forum. He is a former director of Zaytoun CIC, and currently chairs Equal Exchange co-op and a new co-op, Bala Sport, promoting Fairtrade footballs and other sports balls.

The “Building An Economy To Serve People And Not Profit” conference will take place in Manchester on Thursday 21st January (10am-4pm) in the Central Hall.
